a bell from this tower rings at the beginning and end of each lesson, a sound that many students long to hear whilst they're falling asleep at their desk but not so much when they're hurrying to finish an exam paper.

so named because it holds the gryffindor common room, only those of that house tend to venture very far up the tower. unfortunately for them, it can often get a bit cold.

divination lessons with professor trelawney take place in this tower but people often come here during the day to get help with some divination work or just to get some peace and quiet, which is often difficult with the strong smell of pot pourri.

the school owls and those belonging to students are all kept here. somebody has to come and clean almost hourly to keep on top of the feathers and other unpleasant material. don't let that put you off sending your letters though.
