You thought you knew all about the magical world filled with spells and potions. You thought you knew all about the Upper East Side filled with gossip and parties. You thought wrong. Nothing is as you remember it to be, things are so much different now that the two worlds have collided.
Harry Potter is in his sixth year at Hogwarts. Severus Snape is the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher with Horace Slughorn filling his post as Potions master. Albus Dumbledore is still Headmaster, though he would probably be doing a better job if he was at the castle more often rather than desperately trying to find and destroy the horcruxes of Lord Voldemort. Deaths and disappearances are on the front page of the Daily Prophet every day and there is no choice but to prepare for the worst.
Blair Waldorf has never lived on the Upper East Side, and neither have the likes of Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald, or Serena van der Woodsen. When your blood is that pure and your name is that famous with so much money in Gringott's that your vault is actually overflowing, you don't need to. They too are at Hogwarts, but just because they grew up away from New York doesn't mean that there isn't a Gossip Girl. Believe me, she's still around.
Unlike any other wizarding school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has two people at the top - Headmaster Dumbledore and Headmistress Queller. Minerva McGonagall is the Deputy Headmistress and Head of Gryffindor, with Pomona Sprout, Filius Flitwick and Severus Snape as the Heads of Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin respectively. The school has more students than it ever had before and has employed a second teacher for each subject to relieve some of the pressure and responsibilities.
